The Open Science Community Athens began in 2023 through the INOSC Incubator Programme, as the first open science community in Greece built through that network. It is for the whole research community: researchers, students, librarians and everyone who supports research, because changing how research is done takes all of us.
Three directions from the community’s action plan. Everything we run is free, informal and open to anyone who does or supports research in Athens.
We ask the community what it needs to learn and run workshops: FAIR principles, licensing research outputs, reproducibility, data management plans, open tools.
We translate and adapt useful material into Greek, so institutions can build their own research data management services.
We build a meeting place and a mentor and mentee programme, so that nobody starts open science alone.
Open to anyone who does or supports research in Athens. Come to an event, say hello, and build open science with us.
